    What You'll Do

    • Lead the development and review of system safety artifacts in accordance with ARP4761A and ARP4754B, including: AFHA, SFHA, PASA, PSSA, SSA, and ASA

    • Conduct Common Cause Analyses (CCA): Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA), and Common Mode Analysis (CMA)

    • Perform and oversee Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) in support of quantitative safety objectives

    • Interface directly with clients, their certification delegates, and civil aviation authorities on safety substantiation matters

    • Collaborate with DO-178C and DO-254 teams to ensure software and hardware development assurance is consistent with system-level safety requirements

    • Support QTSI's internal methodology development, template library, and delivery playbooks

    • Mentor junior safety analysts and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing

     

    What You Bring

     

    Required:

    • Minimum 3+ years of relevant system and functional safety experience

    • Direct experience developing safety artifacts under ARP4761A, not just reviewing them

    • Proficiency in at least 3  of the following: FHA, PSSA, SSA, CCA (ZSA, PRA, CMA), FTA, FMEA/FMECA

    • Working knowledge of ARP4754B and its relationship to DAL assignment and certification planning

    • Strong technical writing skills; your reports speak for themselves

    • Softskills: Attention to details, Self-starter and quick learner

    • Functional proficiency in English

     

    Assets:

    • Experience with aircraft systems ans systems engineering priciples

    • Exposure to DO-178C (software) or DO-254 (hardware) development assurance processes

    • Familiarity with requirements management tools: IBM DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent

    • Experience with safety analysis tools: Ansys Medini, CAFTA, or similar

    • Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety application

    • P.Eng. designation or equivalent professional engineering license

    • Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) certification (TÜV or equivalent)

    Below is the gist of the activities you will be responsible on day-to-day basis.

    Your Role:

    Functional Safety Intern assists in implementing the safety guidelines (as per the respective safety standards) by evaluating technically and fundamentally the design of the safety critical system. You will be responsible to carry out the activities required as and when needed for meeting the deadlines of our clients.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Co-ordinate with your supervisor about the alignment of functional safety deliverables required per client basis.

    • Support in FuSa based risk assessments and safety concepts definition activities

    • Assist in the performing risk analysis activities which includes HARA/HAZOP, FMECA and functional safety analysis such as FTA, FMEA and FMEDA.

    • Perform/Support verification reviews of safety validation and testing as per the applied industry standard.

    • Read and analyze the safety deliverables from safety standards applicable to respective design requirement

    • Help in document preparation for the identified deliverables

    • Support in business development activities.

    • Report the status of the activities and deliverables to the supervisor

     

    Your Background:

    • Bachelor’s or Master degree in Electrical/Reliability and Safety/Mechanical Engineering

    • Familiar with industry accepted safety/risk standards such as IEC 61508:2010, ISO 26262:2018, ARP 4761, ARP 4754, ISO 14971:2018, etc.

    • Experience in the related functional safety related projects/work

    • Familiar with performing safety/risk/reliability analyses

    • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PPT.

    • Familiarity with software such as Ansys Medini, JIRA, Polarion, IFS will be a plus point
